missing "allow apple watch unlock"option in mac book pro. my mac book pro 2015 does not show allow apple watch unlock option. I had just updated to big sur & even in the previous catalina it won't show that option. I tried following the discussed fix on this post but to no avail. Tried checking two factor Authentication done, unpair & paired

The problem was my screen was "locking" too quickly, even though the watch itself wasn't locked. Here's how I fixed it: Open Watch app on iPhone. Go to General; Go to Wake Screen; Chang "On Tap" to Wake for 70 seconds. Let screen "lock" then wake it by tapping. Quickly check the box "Use Your Apple Watch to unlock apps and your Mac" That's it.
Note: If you don't see the box to allow your Apple Watch to unlock your Mac, there's an issue. Review your preparatory steps above; if you still see a problem, check out our troubleshooting guide. Troubleshooting Auto Unlock: Why can't I see Auto Unlock on my Mac? There are a few additional steps you may have to take if you can't enable Auto

Go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode and enter your passcode as verification. Swipe down the screen and turn on the switch for your watch under Unlock Apple Watch. A message pops up to tell you how

Can't Unlock MacBookPro with Apple Watch After Update to 12.6.3 Dear All, Two days ago I ran the MacOs update to 12.6.3 and since then I have been unable to use my Apple Watch to unlock the MacBook. This is a really handy feature.
I tried to re-enable (after reboots, re-pairing and so on) 'Use Apple Watch to unlock apps and your Mac' with the GM versions on my iPhone 11 Pro and my Apple Watch Series 5 Edition. Problem is still there. This kind of reminds me of iOS 13, it worked the same way, the bugs were simply released as stable. Sign into iCloud on your Mac and select the FindMy app. There's your Mac, your iPhone, AND your Watch all signed in. Dead in. If you find a consistent way to turn "Use Apple Watch to unlock your applications and your Mac" back on, please let me know ASAP. Thanks.

Repair your Apple Watch and Mac with the below instructions: Firstly, open the Watch app on your Apple Phone. Next, on the “My Watch” tab, select the option “All Watches” on the upper left side. Now, click the “i” icon beside the Apple Watch. On the appeared next screen, click on the option “ Unpair Apple Watch ”.

When you use Touch ID or Apple Watch to unlock, 1Password stores an encrypted secret on disk. This secret is used to decrypt your 1Password data when your fingerprint is recognized, or you approve 1Password on Apple Watch. In 1Password 7 and later, the secret is encrypted using an encryption key stored in the Secure Enclave, which only

A user who somehow stole both your watch and your Macbook would still need to know the passcode to the watch. The watch can't be used to login to the MacBook unless the watch is unlocked. And you can't unlock the watch without a passcode. The same thing applies "to passcode before FaceId". Rather than automatically unlocking your Mac, it allows you to unlock your Mac from your phone. This means you can use the Touch ID sensor on your iPhone to authenticate and unlock your Mac. As with Knock and Tether, MacID also offers an Apple Watch app. Unlike with the above options, MacID can't be used by just anyone who has your iPhone and Mac.
Apple added a feature in iOS 14.5 and later that lets you unlock your iPhone when Face ID just isn't an option. That's right — you can use your favorite Apple Watch, such as the Apple Watch Series 7, to unlock your iPhone when your face is covered up, or other situations where Face ID just doesn't work well enough.
